Mt. Merapi in Java, Indonesia on High Alert. Full Eruption Imminent - 25th October 2010

The alert level at Merapi volcano in Java, Indonesia was raised to its highest level this morning at 0600 local time following a sharp increase in volcanic earthquakes and an alarming inflation rate at the summit of over 40cm / day! Evacuations are underway and an eruption could start any day now. I'll be monitoring the situation closely and posting updates here as they come in...
